4. I finally delivered a Christmas present to my parents and visited with them on Saturday. Dad was talking about trying to do his taxes but not being able to get printed forms. He had tried the library, the post office and the local IRS office but nobody has them. His printer is not working so downloading them didn't seem to be an option. Then he was talking about technology. When he was a schoolboy his father had installed a telephone in their house. He had to put up his own poles and string his own line to their farmhouse to connect to the community telephone system. Then they were able to turn the crank to ring central and make a local call, but for long distance it was best to go to the nearest telephone office. Then Mom mentioned Hello Central, Give Me Heaven and sang a little of it. I retrieved a YouTube Video of it on my phone. Later on Dad mentioned Ain't We Crazy and they each sang a few lines of it.
